I have decided to call this blog “The Nourishing Sun” in a light hearted way to bring some fun, learning and insight to topics which we deal with in our daily lives and to give back to our audience made up of existing and prospective clients who may read it, some explanation/clarification and maybe enlightenment on matters of tax, business and (XpoliticsX) Mother Earth.
Because our mighty Sun gives and takes all, we should really stop fussing and enjoy the moments we have on Mother Earth with no regrets!
Which I have stated above in my first learned language and native Italian (Sicilian really).
This Blog will have the following sections:

So as certain as the Morning Star (Venus) rises before the mighty Sun, it is envisaged that most of the information in this Blog will stand.

Joseph writes on many subjects he feels a connection.
Hence this varied blog section.
This can be quite challenging for some people to accept.
Family, friends and colleagues have come to accept Joseph as normal (Freak/Weird/Abnormal/Panic Merchant titles by others) and depending on the audience his method of delivery has to be tempered ……………. somewhat.
So writing small tips as we go along, in the appropriate Blog section without too much elaboration and instead concentrating on issues which will impact our work zone closer to home (Kwinana, Mandurah, Rockingham).

(17/10/2022 Lunedi/Monday) Luna Ciara Paterniti was born Saturday 15/10/2022. To my youngest son Christopher and his lovely Columbian wife and our work Colleague, Maria Fernanda Castillo Navas. 7lb,3oz, this celestial miracle, governed by the moon has made me Nonno Pippo for the first time!!!! And so I'm allowed to feel chuffed and somewhat gay today. In numerology a no. 13 baby which reduces to 4, am super excited. As previously provided, in Sicilian culture this is a lucky number. So Nonno Pippo will be buying her lots of no.13 gold charms. Photos if/once allowed. Yes, the same day my possum was born exactly 30 years ago. From early accounts another strong little determined Libra girl!

MADRE TERRA: The good news first. This mornings declaration by the Chinese Minister as reported by the ABC, in denouncing Putin's/Russia War (an important distinction - as most pro-life Russians would be against this vial act by its military leader. He leads in no other facet). He will be taken-out by my birth Angel Jehudiel, one of the 8 Archangels shortly, if he does not change his ways. This was a welcome revelation by the Chinese. Please keep up the "positive Worldly decisions", China!
For the bad news now. Yesterday morning as I was driving away from Kwinana beach after my morning dip, and I crossed into Rockingham Shire along Rockingham Beach Road and just before the CBH Grain Terminal, I witnessed nature at its horrific best! Led my mother and father duck flying low ahead. 2 Australian Mountain/Shelduck chicks crossing the road "in pace", with Black crow in tow! I knew what was coming next. So as I quickly circled and honked my horn and skidded to a halt. Hoping to scare the crow (bastard) he picked up one of the chicks and flew off. I managed to rescue the sibling in long grass, on the ocean side, but not before the wretched crow came back for seconds. Sitting on a dead tree branch, and hoping that I would give up my find and leave. More about Belvedere (beautiful view) to come, after I post some photos. I am hand feeding it during this public holiday break. And "Vincenzo Francesco Giuseppe Garibaldi", my pet cat is only slightly amused, but well behaved.......for the moment.

AVANTI: My Possum Renee, has asked me to remove her professional photos from this W/site (Agency concerns). Meanwhile the office extensions are coming along fine. I have completed the painting of walls, without an industry oil sealer and am very proud with the result. A Commercial cleaner and fly screens are next. Then Lino floor coverings to the office rooms and some furniture for starters.

AVANTI:
This morning the new extension roof sheeting arrived by truck from Metroll. I could not have been happier with the young driver Kevin and his accommodation with our wishes . Given the tight squeeze in our ever decreasing Office front yard. He placed it with precision.
It has not been fun being exposed to the weather and working under tarps this last week, with the showers we have had. JPA staff have been great! But my continued vigilance on rain and the fact that my builder declared last week "I have not lost a ceiling yet, Joseph!" has instilled enough of confidence to overcome any anxiety at this point in building. The roof plumber installers should be here next week sometime. Showers permitting.
I continue to receive accolades on the condition of the concrete pad and no cracks anywhere. Of which I am proud of.
The good thing is, that this weather has not stopped my ocean swimming, and loving it.

AVANTI: Jason Sprigg Bricklaying is nearly finished on the rear office extensions - Yay!
Exhilarating = My morning swims the last 3 mornings. This morning it was Scarborough Beach. Yesterday and the day before with the Winter Solstice I enjoyed Kwinana Beach and tomorrow morning it will be Port Beach, as I visit clients for year end accounting and Tax purposes, north of the river. What a beautiful State we live in!

I wish all my family, friends and colleagues a cautious and safe 2021.
My possum, Renee who is currently residing in Melbourne, Victoria, misses me and has asked when I will visit next. I made her a promise that by March end, if still unsafe to travel by plane, that I will drive. Allowing 1 week of travel each way and 2 weeks in Melbourne for clients and the possum.
She is excited.
The foundations and concrete pad to the office rear extensions, which I have committed to will be completed by this date, upon which the builder takes over with his bricklayers.

AVANTI: I will in the next 24hrs upload the 2021 Numerology/Astrology Qtr of January to March.
A lot of people and the media are describing this 2020 year as one to forget and put way behind us.
I feel this is wrong, and an indictment to not only the millions of people that have been lost prematurely to Covid-19, but also those lives lost in our society to making this a better World. I am talking here about the past World conflicts.
And it is my strong belief that China will be implicit, the longer it continues it's silence, over what it knew about the early outbreak in it's country.
Journalist, Zhang Zhan 37, should continue to receive World support for her courageous act in revealing the TRUE first hand accounts of the Pandemic in her country. The World should collectively express their 'repulse' to the Chinese Government over her 4 year incarceration.
I am not embarrassed to say that I shed a tear in late March, early April, of 2020 when the ABC News revealed for the first time the number of deaths reached in Italy.
It had reached 3000.
If Russia is telling the truth about their declared deaths from Covid-19, then Italy remains the Country in Europe with the highest deaths, at this point in time.

AVANTI: The skip bin arrived this morning. 'Paterniti Bros. Cartage', my brothers Mel and Tony delivered my Tori-SDK8 Bobcat just this afternoon. This will allow me to start transforming the rear of the build site, ready for the concrete pad. Rear pergolas and outbuildings have been moved and recycled. The large Peppermint Willow tree has been saved as mainly future "board room table", cut into slabs of 100mm. the preparation of this was delicate and as such took ages, but the finished product will look amasing, if the current texture and look are any indication. Some is ear-marked for (staff member) Roxanne's son Dylan as he likes working with natural timber.

My birthday "swim and sausage" celebration day is moved from Sunday 18th to Monday 19th, cause some of you cannot get up early of a Sunday morning. The barbecue will start immediately after my 6am swim at the Rockingham outdoor swimming pool. All clients, colleagues, family and friends of Joseph are invited. This is an alcohol free event. Apple, Cranberry and Orange juice, along with water will be supplied by Joseph. Chicken and herb sausages have been supplied by The Gourmet Butcher Rockingham. Thanks to Detlef and Geld.
The password for free entry is "libra63". Celebrations will be in the south east corner of the facility adjacent to Franks (pool manager) office.
There may be coffee and tea depending on how Frank feels on the day.

The wedding celebration of my son Benjamin Joseph to Tamala went safely well. They received many compliments and well wishes on the day. My possum Renee and Dominic were able to interact via the live streaming, with her bridesmaid dress. Crikey my daughter is extremely attractive. And no I'm not saying that because of my fatherly bias. I will upload some photos when I have time but that is proving scarce at the moment.

And yes my elder abuse client Richard whom I am also looking after is doing extremely well. I made him laugh lots the other week when we were removing some tree branches for a curb side collection. I think he may have pxxd his pants. Photos to be uploaded

AVANTI: MY eldest son Benjamin Joseph is to be married to Tamala Page Cox this time next month. The Bucks and Hens night will be tomorrow night. Read more under Avanti section.
BUSINESS GUIDANCE TIPS: As a practice we are blessed with many new clients this tax season. Most are medium to large. So we have been busy working hard and not much time for the JPA Blog. The office extensions are continuing slowly, and at a pace which I can keep up with. Only last week our builder Lloyd Mckeeman Homes was successful in gaining 'Development approval'. Go check his website out! He will proceed to 'Planning approval' next. Small assignments and readying the site will continue as the weather warms, daylight hours increase and our time becomes available.
MADRE TERRA: The phrase coined by the author of 'Oliver Twist' "The Law is an Ass", will have it's sequel if the Clive Palmer case against WA's hard borders are weakened by the High Court in October/November 2020.
The Chinese Communist Party cannot continue to evolve as an 'Alien' in an open an accountable world, where true news (as opposed to faux news) is owned by the people.

Numerology for the Months of July to September 2020 to be uploaded shortly. The JPA website is undergoing a fair amount of maintenance and back-up at this time. Unsure of whether it is the Wix site or local internet speed. Being 1km from the exchange we have not previously had problems.
But the back-up is proving long and burden-some. 1 line of copy and paste at a time is very slow????
We ask for your patience.

I have had to reconsider my south west tour, to Sugar Loaf Rock with the coming of the WET. Instead I will be heading north of Geraldton. I will stop when I reach the most suitable beach for my activities.

AVANTI: Joey the runaway racehorse from Lark Hill finds solace at the front door of JPA Accounting at 8.20am this morning. See photos.
The coming Winter Solstice on Saturday 20th will see amasing swells down at south west beaches. Joseph has been invited down to a client's farm in Wandering. So this will happen first before moving down to Sugar Loaf Rock.

Mother Earth: After considering many descriptive terms, some which are not publishable. Joseph settles for "ALIEN", as best describing China's Communist Party reaction to Covid 19 thus far. Joseph explains why.

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS: This is not the time to gloat or "told you so" re the failings of the Jobkeeper scheme.
Josh take it from me, Don't say anything that will further you in the 'nure'.
Businesses were hurting from day one. You and Sco-Mo have failed them initially. Some of these businesses will never see the light of day and come back to trading. With many of these family businesses gambling their houses further, on your insistence "as the architects of Jobkeeper", that these businesses pay the initial 2 fortnights of wages - BEFORE THEY GOT REIMBURSED.
Exactly $3000.00 per employee.
Michaelia Cash had announced that this was an integrity measure!
As a Professional Accountant and Registered Federal Tax Agent, with more than 35 years experience (AT THE COAL FACE) I ask, "what further integrity measure could you possibly demand, when you have the following already:
VIA the ATO:
- All businesses with a payroll, irrespective of size are compulsorily registered with the Australian Taxation Office via the Single Touch Payroll System. You already had the names, addresses, phone numbers, pay rates, hours worked, email accounts, super fund accounts of "all employees" including CASUALS (but we won't shout that one out aloud).
- ABN's and TFN's and BSB and Account numbers.
I will add further when I have more time.

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS: I will report some good news on the Federal Government Covid-19 support packages tonight. It would appear that the teething problems that we highlighted have been sorted, as some initial monies flow to our clients.
And that is a big YAY! So a pat on the back of the ATO for making this a reality!

AVANTI: I have re-balanced my Friday arvo's to work out back on the office extensions. Tony and Laurie from "Toyota Material Handling" do a great job in getting "TORI" my Toyota 2SDK8 Skid-Steer loader running again after 8 months on the blink. She will make an on-site appearance very soon, to level out the back. The days of the hand shovel are long gone.
-A few big WA Magnates, weigh into the Covid-19 origins and spread. I am too busy to give my objective opinion for now, but I will in time.
Now is also inappropriate.

AVANTI: As a child growing up, I would marvel at ABC Pencil Nose Scribbler, "Mr. Squiggle". Esp. as I could not draw myself. Let me say at the outset, and be one of the first to say it. That I am very saddened, esp for the lower socio-economic areas of Australia, and those businesses with debt..
If I see one more politician get on a podium espousing the Governments $130 Billion JobKeeper package and "the 830,000 businesses that have signed up thereto", I will be sick! (thanks Michaelia Cash).
And I have not been sick ever since Mum administered Panadol to me, for the last time as a 16 year old!
Please declare to us the latest statistics of failures.
On a larger scale Virgin Australia in Voluntary Administration, today is the best example of this failing!
These employees lost will now have no option but to swell the coffers and ques of the unemployed Centrelink offices.
So Mr. Squiggle in my opinion would have made a better effort than the original declared architects of this Federal Government package.

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS: The bad news first, always!
The ATO advised yesterday, to all Agents of the Federal Reserve (by SMS at 2.48pm). That "The Australian Government has now introduced the JobKeeper payment", and the link therto. My initial reaction when staff member Kristy walked in the 'fine print', was one of anger. I think my neighbour 5 houses up also unfortunately shared my grief!
We as Accountants ALWAYS know that the devil is in the detail. My initial concerns re hurdles was well founded.
And there are 12 bullet points of do's and dont's (you shall do this and you shall do that!).
Can anybody with normal blood pressure please explain to me this pre-condition:
Bullet point no:1-
"Eligible employers should pay the minimum $1500 (before tax) to each eligible employee each fortnight (starting with the 30 March - 12 April) to claim the JobKeeper payment for that fortnight".
Bullet point no:12- "The JobKeeper payment is a reimbursement from the ATO to your client and cannot be paid in advance".
Politicians, Ministers and Bureaucrats please explain in plain English to the many businesses you compulsorily closed down and those that you forced to socially distant in Mid-March, as to how they may now qualify as to your bullet points.

Suffice to say that no JPA clients will be taking up the above package.
​
AVANTI: The good news in the last 24hrs is that my Uncle Sam (Mum's brother) has 80% grappa (ethanol) for me. I phoned and wished him a happy easter last week. And mentioned that I wanted 3 things from him (cause mum could'nt remember-adding what are you up to now! It's ok Mum, I will ask your brother. "Dio beddhu":
- He said, yes nephew, "come ti posso utari". I said Firstly I need more grappa for my office hand sanitiser, cause I can't get any Methylated Spirits. By the time I finish, it will be the only hand sanitiser that one will be able to drink (in moderation, and remember to gargle on the way down). It will contain Chamomile tea. Did you know that the antiseptic powers of this tea are 100 times that of sea water (from my readings of 35 years ago!)?
Secondly I need the recipe for the hand soap you would make as a child growing up. Of lard rendered from pork fat. Bene!
Thirdly If you could help me with the original recipe of Amaretti biscoti from your Cafe, back in Tortorici-Sicily.
Your mother-in-law (now deceased) and my wife were the best at that stuff, said my uncle, cause they came from the same town in Calabria, = Dellianouva, made froma a "mendola"- (the "Bitter Almonds"). At the heart of these bitter almonds, lies the much maligned Vitamin B17! And I can assure all, that the nonna's of yestayear knew this.
I know said I, but I can't remember where my hand written notes are from before she passed?
"I telle u my way, but she way beda. Ok Zio, I will come through this arvo to pick-up.

AVANTI: I must say at this early stage, that Mark McGowan has proven exemplary leadership qualities, throughout this Covid-19 Pandemic.
Your latest remedial package on allowing relief to homeowners and businesses, I have as yet to analyse. But I can say that what I have heard via the news reports sounds very comforting.
Well done the Mark McGowan Govt. and keep up the good work. Remain firm and steadfast! And always "call a spade a spade".
I'm afraid I cannot say the same for the Federal Government!
On this point I always remember what my father would say to me in Sicilian growing up. "Uh travadui si facie cu lustru du yuornu".
And my father would add (in Sicilian):
"My son do not lose your courage.
Better to act early and get it wrong the first time.
Than to not act when you know you should act.
AS THIS IS NOT ONLY UNFORGIVABLE BUT UNFORGETTABLE"

As the Covid-19 numbers soar in the USA, the New York Governor, is already wishing the above lyrics were reversed. Whilst our neighbours Indonesia and Bali will require Humanitarian help as their numbers are unfathomable!

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS:
Can someone please explain to me why the architects (SCO-MO and FRO-MO) of this latest stimulus of Job Keeper Package announced overnight, insist on hurdles being met.
They insist on a minimum 30% drop in Sales turnover. We need the money to flow yesterday!
We know that the major supermarkets should be the only ones not applying, and maybe pharmacies to a lesser extent.
It is the only bright light that I could see, of all the Stimulus packages announced thus far!
So the two morons introduce a hurdle!
Can not some of this please be based on trust at this early stage of business failures.
How are they meant to prove the 30%, Mr's. Laurel and Hardie ????

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS:
In the last week, we assist 3 business clients, with confidence, by phone and by practicing Physical Distancing at our premises and another at the Salon, which has chosen to stay open. I also share my concerns with 3 colleagues in Federal, State and my IPA Accountants Association why the Federal Govt's Business Cash Boost Stimulus, in it's current form will not work in the lower socio-economic regions of Australia, including our Peel region. I have been in this game too long, and wait for the "shit to hit the fan, around April 28, when the cash promised will not flow!!!! See enclosed. This section will be expanded on during the week.

Before my first born Benjamin Joseph (born Anzac Day 1990), Scottish Rock Band, Del Amitri's lyrics of their most famous song "Nothing Ever Happens", would always leave me with an eerie feeling. You will never guess which sentence of the song had the biggest impact on me which we are about to see play out in real life. See my analogy in the Avanti section. Sorry new Madre Terra section.

The JPA Policy and Procedure for Prevention of the Spread COVID 19 (Corona Virus). It will be business as usual for JPA staff and clients as we reassure staff firstly and our valued clients by following this better practice. See enclosed.

Also during the week we will unravel both the Federal and State Government Stimulus packages. As we experience an expected increase in business client enquiries. We can report from the outset that some stimulus is longer term and not for the now, which requires business cash expenditure and therefore not appropriate. STAY TUNED.

Blessed are thou beaches of the west! This was my first thought on landing back in Perth from Melbourne.
Lunedi/Monday 27th January was unforgettable. The day the Monarch (aka Wanderer) Butterfly came to visit, stayed with me for 15 minutes. Was it trying to tell me something.

Which has inspired me to re-tell the butterfly visit experience of clients George, and his late wife Isabel.

AVANTI: About to return to Perth from Melbourne and this will be my most memorable visit.
Arrived with rain and downpour, then smog from fires, in the worst city in the WORLD for a day with smog. Then in 1 day Melbournians have 1 months rainfall, and then last night the skies cried dust and mud.

AVANTI: Thank you to the NSW Rural Fire Services for bringing photos and video footage of the Mega Blaze burning in North Sydney. We can all learn from this footage, esp. in mitigation and future fire fighting to avoid the coming together of fire fronts. These people should be nominated for a "most courageous" award.
And well done to the Australian Broadcasting Commission for bringing this footage to the World.
Our thoughts are with those who have lost property or loved ones in this latest Firestorm.
We have a new appreciation of these devastating fires.

AVANTI: The biopsy results are in. "S.C. Carcinoma" of the tongue is not a pleasant beast! But we have learnt to live with it in the JPA family (I think).
So when a Learned Professor in the field and a Numerologist/Accountant (me) talk probabilities of 20/25% over the next 4/5 years, then it may have developed into cancer, but for excising it early.
Then some still take this as a negative.
It is true that Angels and Demons are interwined, and none more-so than in the fight against cancer.
Will mankind ever cure cancer?
Never say I.
Why you ask?
Because I am a realist and with my positive intuition, we need only be 2 steps ahead of this demonic curse.
As we are for Ever Evolving Beings, for the better I believe but with this, so to the demonic curse.
Nothing in this revolving cosmos that we live, ever sits still.
So we must move with it.

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS: As declared early in the year, we assist our client Terence, maximise his UK Pension application through colleague Richard. He is now looking forward to this next phase of his life being 63 years of age. By topping up now he will qualify for the full UK Pension in retirement. This is good news for he and his family.
​
Before year end, we will revisit our list of hoped achievements and see how many became reality.

NUMEROLOGY/ASTROLOGY: a publisher of "Star Signs" today wrote for the Libra constellation (Sept 23 - Oct 23) as follows;

​AVANTI: Staff member Kristy reminds me of the updating required to the website photos and commentary. I agree, there is lots to be done. The Rockingham Beach Festive day organised to showcase the new foreshore may provide for this new photo opportunity day. Also a good day to get the Roller Blades out and mingle. The ATO initiative of "Single Touch Payroll" is still proving time consuming and a priority at this stage. As some micro clients/business's are finding it difficult in coping with this extra time devotion. Their valid argument being, "this is non-productive time devotion which is not benefiting Australia's bottom line".
I can now understand the reason why those producers that can are leaving Australian shores.
With the amount of "Red Tape and Bureaucracy" that micro and small business's need to deal with.
So in the new year JPA we will do our bit to bring out the best of the 3 Bureaucrats/Politicians who have put their head up in this area.
Can you name the 3. Never put your head up, unless you can "Walk the Talk".

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS/AVANTI: Happy to announce today that as an inagural shareholder, promoter and mentor of 'Pulse Global", that 1 week ago our organisation finally changed it's name after being decided in Sydney, at our corporate headquarters in September, 2018.
The Culture Tech Platform now being finalised will be from this month promoted under it's new name, brand and logo.
"APPELLON" - from Apollo, after the son of Zeus and Hera in Greek Mythology. It will become known for it's coccooning care and guidance of organisations, which seek it's assistance in the human behavioural field of "Culture".
Characterised and based on the Ulysses Butterfly of far North Queensland with a wing span in excess of 100mm. This majestic butterfly which is a spiritual symbol of most cultures world wide is a beautiful blue/black colour from the centre out.

​NUMEROLOGY/ASTROLOGY: The month of September has been uploaded and is only remarkable as it is a period of transition.

AVANTI: Chris and Marfea take me out for Father's day. Then later after visiting dad, who continues to do well, my daughter Renee rings for Father's day, as I work in the Attic of my home. She is very relaxed as she relays enjoying her refresher/finishing classes with some of the past icons in the Victorian and Australian movie industry. Her boyfriend Domenic is her rock now and taking good care of my possum. Benjamin my son from Bunbury and his fiancee Tammy has been trying all morning, but missed me when I was at Challenger Beach and then breakfasting with Chrisso. So my weekend was great as I heard from all my loved ones, and got some house chores done.
​
TAXATION: Not enjoying one aspect of this at the moment, and it is truthful that neither are my small and micro business clients. The ATO's "Single Touch Payroll" being the culprit. Something is going to have to give as the ATO pushes on under the guise of it's Black Economy Initiative. Some of us in the industry are starting to question this "band aid". Which for small business people who cannot afford an in house Accountant or Bookkeeper represents a major red tap bureaucratic hurdle.
The collapse of the ATO "My Gov" account as experienced in mid July which also took the Centrelink/Medicare sites with it, will be much worse next year.
Did it affect my practice.?
No!
Why?
Because it may come as a surprise to many. That I am one of the few remaining practioners that still constructs manual taxtion returns. Once I am happy, and then the client happy with their return, does it pass to my staff for uploading and lodgement. So My clients and I were able to continue unaffected by any of these collapses.
We as a practice are affected by the unavailability of the lodgement screen only!
"STP" is already proving to be a stealth tool used by related Government departments to harm rather than teach.
As confided to me by one ATO inside informant!

AVANTI: It has been a roller coaster week of emotion in Melbourne this week. In this order:
- My Trustee meetings at a Frankston Retirement Village went well. Our client was asked by me if she has chosen a nursing home of her choice, (whilst she is able) before her family decides for her. The eighty yr old answered in the affirmative. So I asked all present to take note of her choice. The family members agreed that they would take Mother for tours so she could ask further questions. This same meeting room was the scene of a very heated exchange this time last year. I have been asked to attend in future years.
The consensus reached was that other family members need to feel the presence of someone new from time to time!
- My initial meeting with new clients in the same area of Bittern/Frankston went better than I had thought. They have agreed to terms. As we wind up their small business, and they rationalise their assets for the succession plan with their children and they plan for their retirement.
- My Monday at the IPA offices culminates with Renee's (my possum) Actors Agency meetings. The possum had two Melbourne agencies interested in her latest resume, screen rolls and head shots. The IPA Melbourne ask me to be their promotional face on their website for next year's London Delegation conference tour. I accept and Deja, Admin. assistant to the CEO rolls with the camera. Once the editors finish it will be uploaded. About the same time Renee rings her Daddy with tears of joy, saying that her first interview went well and that the Lady Agent has signed her up. After 5 years in Melbourne doing it tough, we both share tears, as my emotions take over. She has lots of homework to do, as we both agree that the side of a bus or billboard will be acceptable for the moment!
Then later in the evening we party.

- Lookout for the upcoming edition of the Sound Telegraph - Rockingham. As JPA, with permission from the client share his experience for others to avoid. The subject of Rogue Agents and the financial carnage they cause to a person's assessment notice is real. This has been a case 6 months in the making. With all custodians of the Australian Revenue now notified. Including the IPA Melbourne Australia, the Australian Taxation Office, and the Taxation Board of Australia, the body charged with licensing and penalising non-agents.
​
See you all back in sunny Perth. I only swam at the beach 3 times, whilst in Melbourne, and that was enough! Once at Frankston, and twice at South Melbourne. Both in Port Philip Bay. Not in the open ocean.
I spent most mornings in the warmth of the Dawson street baths.
The general consensus is that even conditioned Melbournians have found this past week cold.

We continue to be his Power of Attorney. And are asked if we would consider also the role of Guardian.
You do not want to know what one family member suggested.
Suffice to say that they will never be granted the role of Guardian, whilst I breathe air.
This went well for our client. He is happy, at home for the moment. And the dissenting family members put on notice!!!!

June end 2019.
- We enter a short (very) period of reprieve and rest before the busy tax period of July 2019. But I will promise by the end of the day my main reason as to why the Margaret River Pro-Surfing competition is still a bit too early on the calendar. And no it's not for points as Kelly Slater recently declared.

AVANTI: This time of year, in this part of the world, we witness amazing ocean swells on our western beaches. To the uninitiated Ocean swell can best be described as "the maximum horizontal displacement over the shortest vertical distance". The Margaret River Pro-Surfing competition was moved back in the calendar from April to May end. It prompted Kelly Slater to state that it was due to the lack of accumulation of points by surfers, the previous season. This is only partly right. The shark scare was real last season, as was witnessed by the better management this season with the 'extra drones and patrols'.
The lack of swell and patrols added to the problems of 2018.
In my opinion as a veteran of these waters, the competition was this year still at least 1 month early.
The best swells this time of year can be found either side of the Winter Solstice between the full moons of June and July.
In practice, the closer the full moon to that solstice, the greater the swell.
And the reason why small craft, esp. 'tinnies' without life jackets and 'E-Perbs' should be kept high and dry and out of the water.
I am enjoying the current 15/16 degrees ocean temperature, with the cooler rain droplets falling on the body, rather soothing.
The only negating factor this time of year is the chill factor that comes with an early morning blow, as one exits the water.

- Apologies to clients new and existing, as JPA currently transfers to the NBN. All incoming calls have been transferred to Joseph's Mobile number in the interim. We do have an email account now! We envisage phone services to be restored by the end of this week or early next week (10th).
- The 'cultural concrete pad tea party' at Chris and Marfea's new home-t-be is scheduled for this Friday 7th June. It will combine with the first home inspection and handover now not being too far. It will be held in the north facing garage which has also now recieved it's concrete pad. Wow things have been moving!
AVANTI:
- As my audience now includes Blog followers from Sicily, I will keep the day translation going for now. Most of my cousins understand and can speak some English as it is taught in the schools from the intermediate years of 7 and 8. So they will translate for the Aunties and Uncles.
- The Mother of my Children and Wife although currently well, has received some anxious news. I personally remember the last time and do not like the look of this latest development, so I will be concentrating my efforts in attending to her needs going forward for the time being. As a result my, and the aspirations of JPA will be put on hold. Blog writings will be kept to the necessary notifications and those sections already commenced. Past footage, rather than new footage. I have lots to load from London and Sicily, in any case. My staff are supportive as usual as the older members have been through this before.

My lady staff back in Rockingham have done it yet again!
After checking my work emails, I told them I had a late night due to a train delay over a drunken fare evader.
I was too tired to go out, so would catch up on some sleep in the room, which 'Isola Sacra Hotel Rome' was more than happy to accommodate. My plane for Doha leaves at 4.45pm today. I was allowed to stay in my room till 3pm.
What came back from my lady staff was: "stop whinging, you can sleep on the plane.
I was sitting out front taking photos when a Taxi pulled up to drop off some tourists.
"Antonella" a licenced Taxi driver from 'IL Commune di Roma" was happy to drive me around the main historic sites of Rome.

She took me to:
- Colosseo.
- Piazza Venezia (across from where Muzzolini would pontificate from his balcony).
- Fontana Trevi.
- Piazza Spagna (Spanish Steps).
- Piazza Popolo.
- Vaticano (Di St. Pietro).
I was most happy, and Antonella signed off with "Con Affetto".
And I will be sleeping on the plane! My first leg to Doha is 6.5hrs. A two hour rest and then 11 hours for the Perth Journey.

AVANTI:
Wow! What a roller coaster ride of emotions this week has been for me.
My Aunties of Sicily, just had to fatten me up as I looked too gaunt (to them). They succeeded. I have put on at least 5 kgs. At least that's what it feels like around my waist!
My Uncles were anxious to drive me everywhere and to visit their vegie plots in "campagnia" (the country). I did remember these plots on slippery fertile hiilsides as an 8yr old.
My cousins whom I had never met except on a photo, and now 'whatsapp" wanted to tell me more about themselves and their studies/careers. And of course wanted to know about me and my children. We shared heaps of photos. They wanted to know if my possum Renee was on face book. I said no, as she has had a bad experience.
My emotions spilt over on two occasions.
You guessed it.
Once was when I revisited my father's house and the reaction I received from the new owner Mr. Carmelo Basilie.
The second was from my cousin Rosario Nici. Being an Agricultural Scientist he brought me to places in the mountain tops that the locals did not even know about.
His parting words were. When you come back we will need at least one month to explore this beauty via camping.
You can bet your life on it that I will be coming back.
More for later as it is commencing to rain for my train journey back to Rome for my flight home.

AVANTI:
Having arrived in Rome yesterday for a one night stopover. My journey to Sicily by train finally ended when I reached "Capo d'Orlando Station" to the arms of relatives (mum's side) 2hrs ago at 9.15pm.
The London leg of the journey was grueling with not much sleep.
The IPA packed alot in.
More tomorrow after my cousins come to pick me up for fattening.
But only after 9am. They know about my swim sessions.
I am off to bed with a green tea!

AVANTI:
- 2 days out from Anzac Day Commemorations, I hope your Easter break was safe. As we have seen now, for some religious followers this last month commencing with Christchurch and now Sri Lanka has been quite sad. Some of the dead, now coming to light affecting most nations of the World.
My Good Friday started at one of my favourite beaches, before the storm set in.
On Thursday 18th, staff and I enjoyed various dishes for my "UK London Delegation" good-will send off. I made Gnocci with a fresh sauce as an alternative to the Arancini. Staff members brought enchilades, noodles, salads and quiches. The Proseco we received as a Xmas gift from a longtime client of ours. We finished with Red Tulip easter eggs.
- The carport which I started at Xmas 2018 has now been secured for the latest storms. This has been an all consuming part-time testing build. The build site is a steep decline which descends into my cellar. The 5 channel superdek sheeting to suite the gum leaf/ banana shape roof has guaranteed that I have every conceivable 'sheet metal sheers' on the market.
Staff have asked for photos which I will upload in time.
- Kristy's 'concrete pad' "tea party" may have to be a 'roofing one' on my return. I cannot believe the speed of 'Chris and Marfea's build' which is now at roof sheeting stage. It has attracted undesirable and unwelcome visitors, which Andy and Rick from City Of Kwinana Community Assist have been able to move on. My continued vigilence on this property at all hours has been positive.
- This final week before my departure to the UK Delegation has been the 'extreme of emotions'. From anxiety to excitement and from apprehension to fear. The large open spaces I an familiar with in this beautiful State of W.A., I will not have in Westminster, UK. Should I bother with my Roller Blades or just leave them behind? I have not seen my Uncles Aunties and Cousins for over 47 years. The fear of rejection is real. Even though one Uncle (Mum's youngest brother Rosario) has asked me to cancel my booked accommodation to go stay with his family. But I did promise him that after my morning swim in the Mediterranean, off the "Villa Anita Residence" we would join for meals at lunch and dinner. I did ask him for one favour, and that was for a tour of my Father's village at 'Via Torre', and my Mother's village at 'Via Colle'. This will be very emotional for me as I revist the house my father built for his Mother. Yes, all built from 'cap and lime stones' quarried from the same build site.
I will have lots of photos and Go-Pro footage to upload and share.

At last weeks IPA State Congress, long time member and guest speaker Mark Holton from Sydney relayed to us his knowledge and experience from attending a recent "Disney Institute" professional development course in Anaheim, California. If you are one of the lucky ones you could be chosen to complete a degree in "Imagineering". This from one of the most profitable and successful legacies worlwide created by Mr. Walt Disney. Last year it generated 59.43billion in Sales Turnover.

POLITICS:
The best news so far on Brexit. The bipartisanship I had hoped for between Theresa May's Conservative party and Jeremy Corbin's Labour party so as to avoid an expensive crash out of the EU, without a deal, hopefully can happen. Theresa May (a stay campaigner
herself, like me) at all times has tried to respect the decision of the small majority of leavers!
This is admirable. For the common good of the British people who did vote to leave.
Even without hindsight, this slim majority was always going to split the emotions and sentiments of the British people.
I for one would like to continue to express my support for Theresa May, she is an amasing lady.
And I would have her as a team member any day!
Let me also say that at this late stage, a 2nd referendum to stay in the Union would also be admirable!
Go Theresa and Jeremy!
Meanwhile the 'Prince of Ideology', Boris Johnson has labelled this "A betrayal". As far as I am concerned, for a person who championed the leave campaign, and then stymied his own Government in achieving an outcome by voting against motions culminating in his resignation, is himself guilty of "calling the kettle black".
​
If lessons are to be learned worldwide from this fiasco, it is that Referendums ought to be taken very seriously and because they affect all peoples, then all people should be made to "compulsory vote".
More seriously, the voting public are not stupid and should not be treated with contempt! It is my belief that this is the reason why "factional politics is dead and buried" It has given rise to the Independant's, which is a great thing going forward, as these individuals need to work together for the common good of all the people. It will also stop the infighting and replacement of elected leaders by the in house factions.
Morrison and Shorten, are you both listening!!!!

BUSINESS GUIDANCE/TIPS/AVANTI:
Christopher reports that in his first week of going live in Australia, www.puckpot.com (linked to facebook) had only superficial hits. So he opened the site to Canada, UK and the USA. Well!!!! within the week of being live in these markets he had 3 sales. I cautioned him to being aware at all times of the "exchange rate" and the "foreign currency translations".
I also mentioned to not be afraid if he needs to close the site in these markets, whilst he refines his pricing policy!
If you are in business, then from time to time your own policies and beliefs may need to be refined.
Do not be afraid to try something different as it is better to probe a response than sit idle with no change.
Just recently, JPA gave this advise to our client Denis Calderbank - "A1 PIGMENTS AUSTRALIA". Who as well operates on the Worldwide web, with facebook links. I handed him my Roller blades, and asked him to put some 'morning beach colour' into them, as I wanted to bring these with me to the UK, as part of my exercise regime.
He warned me against swimming in the "Thames" as I may emerge with two heads.

I am currently working on 5 articles from tax advice to business tips. Also as I morphe from Politics to Mother Earth as promised.

Wow what a week in Politics, culminating in what I suspected in that Julie Bishop will not re-contest her seat of 'Curtain'. Jeremy Corbyn's party is 8 members lighter, whilst the conservatives lose another 3 over night. I should have time to write today whilst on the road and catch up most of this weekend.
​www.puckpot.com has been live since the weekend. Congratulations (son) Christopher.
Joseph Paterniti is now officially the Treasurer of S.C.A.L.E.S Rockingham. My first meeting will be Monday evening the 25th.

MOTHER EARTH: There was so much going on in Federal Parliament yesterday, most of it crap! No better, one can add than the Politics at play in the present UK Parliament with Brexit. But sadly I will remember yesterday for all the wrong reasons.
My first vision of Mother Earth 'spontaneously combusting'. The day (Wednesday 13/02/2019 - a Universal 9 day) the ground started burning at Mount Denison Station, just north of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
So it has inspired me to start a section devoted to Mother Earth. Stay tuned for alot more in this area.

POLITICS: The findings of the Royal Commission into Banking, Finance and the Superannuation Industry are about to be released to the general public. But you will hear it first from Joseph, that apart from some superficial changes, some lower management heads will roll and the rot will continue! Both ASIC and APRA will put out their collective hands and demand more money in their watchdog roll. The truth is the Elephant in the room is "Industry Super Funds", and apart from tickling them with a blade of grass, Commissioner Hayne's ran out of time towards the end. This behmoth of and Industry is too large to touch and "Union Protected". Which even Bill Shorten is too frightened to touch.
One of the biggest issues facing Industry Super Funds, is in Laymans terms, the "Valuation of Unlisted (Property) Funds/Trusts in their respective portfolios. I am not the first commentator to suggest this problem.
This important point goes to the Investment Heart of their Worth.
